I think the last issue in this collection works well, I'm an easy mark for a retro style, but my enthusiasm is mellowing already, twenty minutes after reading it. The story has a decent supporting cast, even if "we're commenting on the thing and doing it anyway" is in effect for each set of characters. The Zdarsky run of Daredevil has some room to breath but because penciller Marco Checcheto is missing and his solid figures are noticeably absent. What the book does have is Clayton Cowles, I appreciate Clayton Cowles doing work this good, it's not often that he slips, and I appreciated the sound effects quite a bit. I hope what I've written here is useful to you.
