Crossroads

How far would you go to bring back someone you love?

When Chris's son dies in a tragic car crash, her world is devastated. The walls of grief close in on Chris's life until, one day, a small cut on her finger changes everything.

A drop of blood falls from Chris's hand onto her son's roadside memorial and, later that night, Chris thinks she sees his ghost outside her window. Only, is it really her son's ghost, or is it something else-something evil?

Soon Chris is playing a dangerous game with forces beyond her control in a bid to see her son, Trey, alive once again.

The Nerdy Narrative

If you are a parent, this one may be a very heart-wrenching read for you. For me, I related more strongly to a side character than anything else due to some experiences I personally have had.

I enjoyed this story very, very much. I do admit that I figured out pretty quickly the direction it would take - but I did NOT predict the extreme measures taken to get there. I appreciated that aspect very much...oftentimes in stories like these, I feel authors hold back or "Disney" it up. I loved the grit and the peeled back layers of the mother's love for her child.

A haunting ghost story that explores the darkness of grief and what some may be willing to do for its relief. I listened to the audiobook for this novella and it was like a friend telling me a detailed ghost story where the main character just can’t see what’s right in front of them! This was suspenseful, terrifying, and heartbreaking all at once. The narrator did an excellent job conveying the horror in this novella. I found myself wincing and cringing during some of the more horrifying moments because the narration was so visceral. If you’re looking for a terrifying and eerie story about crossroad demons and the people desperate enough to make a deal with them, then read this now!
