Crossing Over Easy (Eastwind Witches Cozy Mysteries)

To stay out of jail, this snarky psychic must uncover a werewolf's killer. Does she stand a ghost of a chance?
Nora never believed in ghosts until one popped up asking for her help. And she never believed in witches ... until she discovered she was one.

Now trapped in the quaint supernatural town of Eastwind, she must learn the ins and outs of her powers before she gets herself killed.

When she stumbles on a murder in the greasy kitchen of an all-night diner, all wands point to Nora the newcomer as the prime suspect.

With the help of her bacon-obsessed canine familiar, a too-hot-to-be-true waiter, and the spirit of the deceased, Nora's only chance at clearing her name is to serve up the real killer on a silver platter. Is justice on the menu or will the guilty party dine and dash?

Crossing Over Easy is the first book in the delightful Eastwind Witches series (best enjoyed in order). If you love snarky female sleuths, humorous hijinks, and delicious love interests, you will adore Nova Nelson's magical cozy mysteries.

I picked this book up because I just finished Under the Whispering Door and really liked the idea of another book about life after death. It turned out to be the perfect thing to read after a darker take on the topic. I adore Nora and can't wait to read the next book. She died, leaving many life accomplishments, but no personal attachments behind and my heart hurt for all the missed connections. Eastwind is going to be just what she needs in her second chance at life. In this paranormal universe all is real, and this book was a great teaser to all the various species we'll get to see through the series. Meet the cast through Nora is eyes is hilarious, and left me excited for future cases. Nora's familiar, Grim, is the perfect side kick for her snark and antics. The two of them had me laughing out loud. There is amazing world building happening in this book, so much set up that I am excited to unpack in future books. While this case was an easy solve for Nora, it was the perfect way to introduce a sprawling magical town, and all that will be characters in future books. You'll love this book if you enjoy cozy mysteries with humor, paranormal characters and a hint of romance to come.
