This is so much more than a book about women’s sexual wellbeing.
“I am done living in a world where women are lied to about their bodies; where women are objects of sexual desire rather than subjects of sexual pleasure; where sex is used as a weapon against women; and where women believe their bodies are broken, simply because those bodies are not male. And I am done living in a world where women are trained from birth to treat their bodies as the enemy. I wrote this book to teach women to live with confidence and joy.”
I am here for all this self-compassion and self-love!
I love her voice in this - it’s approachable and accessible. The metaphors used, while abundant, are easy to follow and the TLDR’s at the end of each chapter are a great touch to get the spark notes summary, especially if you find the chapters aren’t necessarily applicable to yourself.

I'd seen a few of my fellow Goodreads friends reading this, and as someone who's been deconstructing their faith, relearning how to view sexuality without shame, I thought this might be helpful. I learned a lot, and it's definitely just the beginning, but it's a gentle way to begin a healing process, to retrain my brain. I'd been on the waitlist through Libby, so while I probably should have read this one more slowly, I had to read it fast. It was a lot of information to take in, and I had a hard time wrapping my head around some of it. I may have to return to it later on, but it's a great place to start!
