It's so nice to read a book about women who are educated and successful and yet still have to deal with the dramas life throws at them. It's refreshing to read about women who are dealing with aging parents and spouses going through mid-life crisis rather than only about young women who can't find the right man and their bosses are mean. The complications of modern life is more than about when to settle down, that's when the real complexities begin. How to deal with modern mixed families, how to find your balance again when you have strived for success just to have your career taken away, how to deal with your kids becoming adults. I love her characters and the situations they find themselves in, and sometimes they have to deal with having made a bad choice. My only quibble is that I have trouble keeping up with four main characters and when each new chapter begins I have to figure out who we are talking about again. And yet I always keep reading to go back to the world she has created.
