Bring in the holiday cheer with a friends to lover romance filled with family, grief, forgiveness and most of all joy. Christmas Off Script will forever be on my holiday reads list for sure. Evie is a beautiful writer and completed changed the meaning of Christmas spirit with this book. The blend of Cinderella and Christmas was chefs kiss! I mean it really was amazing to read. I also love the idea of story centered around a pantomime!
The beautiful Ella and Leo are just the couple of the century. Two people who have loved each other since they were kids but kept missing the opportunity to be together. It was such a wonderful plot. The set up of the story was done so well and I really enjoyed how life just kept happening but Leo was always there. I really appreciated how some of the issue in Ellaâs life were portrayed. She really was a real life Cinderella story. And Leo was 100% her Prince Charming.
Side note : I hope Oliver gets a lump of coal for Christmas.
Ella is a doll. I love her so much. I wanted her to have the most wonderful Christmas and love that the world could bring. I wanted her to just freaking win for a change. Leo was EVERYTHING!!! I love him. And I love how he loved Ella. Just unconditionally, and unapologetically. He was her everything and so was she. Leo is for sure a book boyfriend unlike any other.
My favorite scene is the Christmas Quiz scene. Iâm a sucker for competition! It was hilarious and their costumes were amazing.
I loved the family aspect of the book. I felt like it was warming. All the family dynamics had interesting elements to them but it was so fun to read about. I felt like there was always something new with their family. And I loved how Ella fit right into it.
Overall this was one of my favorite holiday reads this year! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for some Christmas cheer and a beautiful fairytale ending. Thank you Evie for allowing me to read this beautiful story and I canât wait for the next one.
