Jeanette Winterson is a poetic genius, and the creativity of this collection showcases her strength as a storyteller. I loved the recipes and attached stories most of all, and wish in some ways that the book had been more recipe stories, less short stories. I also loved its autoethnographic feel, the small abandoned child, the wild imagination, the insights seeing the world through queer lenses can bring. Its not The Passion, but it is a gem.
