Straight-up fantasy set in the modern world, which is my current favorite genre. Demon-inhabited carousel horses, selkies, fire elementals, and a beach house -- what could be better? I think I picked this one up thinking it was the author Tanith Lee (whom I love)... but I'll try a few more by Sharon.
