I picked this novel up in a bookstore by Plymouth, MA which is an area where my family enjoys visiting in the summer. Reminiscent of Ken Follett’s writing, this historical novel takes place from the 1600’s right up into the 1980’s. I really enjoyed following the historical parts of the novel but the current day mystery lost my interest towards the end. It was hard to follow the different characters through the generations so I was glad for the extensive genealogy.
