Calling for a Blanket Dance

4.5 stars. really well-written kinship-based, multigenerational saga spanning several decades told through multiple characters with varying ties to the "main" character. felt some similar vibes re: family, generational story telling, and strong cultural ties from sharks in the time of saviors, which was one of my favorite books. loved the idea of one character's story as he's molded by his community, family, and culture told through so many others while also following their respective stories from other viewpoints. every character is complex with many flaws but hokeah makes you feel for all of them regardless. highly recommend this story.
