In taut and nuanced prose Mary Otis proves herself again as a wry and wise observer of social behavior and fractious family entanglement. Highly recommend!
I absolutely loved this book. There are many stories out there of complex dynamics between a mother and daughter, and yet this one was singular. Otis came at it with so much vision, creativity, and lyricism. Our book club loved the fact that in some ways the reader was left wondering at the end--the novel definitely isn't one the author has tied up in a neat little bow. I loved getting to know Charlotte and Viva!
I really loved this book so much. Could not put it down, read in 2 days. Record for me since I have lots going these days. I am still thinking about this book. Love the cover and the authors writing. Have recommended to all my friends.
