It was just ok. Carter comes across as indifferent which isnt a bad thing if readers like his character overall. And I did not; most of the time I felt like I was reading a wannabe Dresden.
Carter is flawed and has a lot of things from his past that needs to be addressed. But honestly, this feels like a book (series) that would most be enjoyed by toxic male readers🤷🏾♀️. Women are ogle items or disposable plot devices.
Extra negative points for the use of a Latinx cultural religious figure to push the narrative. If I confirm writer to be of the community, I will amend this last statement.
