I listened to the audio book and it was fantastic! What a life he has lead. I had no idea. His mom sounds like a pretty amazing woman. I can't wait to see how they turn this into a screenplay!

Read by Lynne: An amazing story that opened my eyes to a part of the world I was not very familiar. The story of a comedian from South Africa. I recommend this book.

Witty, funny, relatable...everything I love in a story, an inspiration to write my own.

Hilarious and so personally deep. Laugh out loud, clutch your heart, all the feels with this one.

An exceptional back story to an exceptional man. His memoirs of growing up a colored boy in both apartheid and post-apartheid South Africa provide insight on manhood, raising children, class, race, and life in general. A guy known mostly for his comedy gives us a glimpse into his powerful story that has lessons for all of us. I highly recommend it. Most powerfully, the story of his mother makes me especially thankful for the family I come from and the sacrifices my parents have made for my siblings and me.
