Excellent research obviously done for this book. Really brought out the seedy world of the late 1700s London and the despicable, hypocritical attitude of all the people benefitting from the slave trade. Particularly callous was the classification of the 100s of slaves on a ship as cargo for insurance purposes. The abolitionists were exceedingly brave people to speak out and work against the slavers. Not an easy but a necessary read IMHO.
