Big Bad (Creature Feature collection)

I liked this one a lot. It was so close to perfect but parts of the ending didn't sit right with me.
Great characters, and great, believable dialog.
I'll definitely seek out more from the new to me author.

What an introduction to Baker’s work! This is a tense and thrilling story, which I absolutely powered through. This was one of my favorite of these “creature feature” stories, since it takes a concept that’s been done so many times and does something new with it. I’ll definitely be checking out more of her works after how much I enjoyed this.

Big Bad stands out as one of the best short stories I've read recently, seamlessly blending humor and relatability in the first half with a sinister and creepy turn in the second half. Chandler Baker's writing style is really well-crafted, creating an engaging narrative. However, the downside lies in the fairly predictable plot; nevertheless, it doesn't diminish the overall enjoyment of the story.
