i liked this a lot more than i thought i would. this is my introduction into ali hazlewood. perfect cold, wintery novella for this time of year especially with the snow still on the ground.
totally thought ian's personality would be completely opposite just based off how he looks on the cover. he's got that fckboy look to him but he's such a sweetheart.
also realized this is the 3rd in the STEMinist novellas so im gonna backtrack!!

This one did not do it for me. The story was too rushed and then really was just based on nothing. I guess it is supposed to be some type of love at first sight thing, but it did not work for me. The smut scenes were good, but did not mesh well with the characters for me or how it was handled within the context of their relationship.
These nerdy romances are a nice break from my first and true love, the alpha male.
My soft spot for Ali Hazelwood comes from how sweet the Heroes always are and the academically smart Heroines. This was a novella so there was not a lot of time for character development, but I thought Ali did a good job building up the relationship. The backstory for Ian came out of left field and I was still not completely convinced he wasn't joking for longer than I think the reader was supposed to, but overall the story was good.
Out of the three Women of STEM books, this one was the book that I’d have liked to see as full length. There was obvious chemistry between Hannah and Ian and I would’ve liked to have explored each character a little more fully to develop that chemistry into full fledged heat. Hannah had a really interesting back story that begged to be told and I would’ve liked to have known a bit more about Ian’s personality that wasn’t just limited to young genius.
I know some people think the nerdy sex scenes are awkward, but I think they're cute. What can I say, I love myself a nerd even in that means silly sex scenes.
