I liked the first book in this 4 book series, but then had trouble getting through the second book. And it has taken me a while to return to the series, but I figured it was time to finish the series and read book 3 and book 4.
"Beautiful Chaos" immersed me back into the wonderful caster, keeper and mortal worlds intertwined in Gatlin, SC. I found myself enjoyed the twists and churning lives of Lena and Ethan, the love/hate dynamic duo of Ridley and Link and the growing friendship evolving between Olivia (Liv) and John. These are characters that you can't help but love and want to follow.
I still found that Amma, Aunt Marian and Uncle Macon were people you loved and were still keeping the "kids" in the dark as much as possible to protect them, but of course, you knew that the younger generation would still figure things out and go looking for the truth like always.
The book ends in a real cliffhanger, and I'm eager to press on with the series. Glad that I already have book 4 on hand...

Maybe I was just very high while I read this but it was honestly a little hard to follow. Was that ending able to be deduced through the text or should I have been surprised as I was? I don’t know. I’m still obsessed with the series and looking forward to reading the final installment (and all the companions after that). We will see what happens, I suppose!
