I absolutely love the Maddy Madrigal character - and the cat!! 😻 And she’s connected to two characters from The Haunting of Chavez Ravine! If you haven’t read that one yet, I definitely recommend it because it’s really good! But it’s also not necessary to read before reading Barely Magic! 👏
