This was a hard one for me to rate and I’m probably being tougher than it deserves. For one, I just finished a different romance that I adored so I am most likely wrongfully comparing them. The harder thing for me, and really what knocks this down heavily in my overall likeness was the narration for the audiobook. I could barely stand Josephine’s chapters and although that isn’t a fault of the story itself, it played heavily into how I felt while reading this one. I did debate not finishing this because of the audio but I stuck with it because the characters were tackling a pretty healthy and realistic relationship that I enjoyed. It was fast paced so things felt somewhat rushed but Jack and Josephine were enjoyable characters and I was really rooting for them. Overall, I would recommend this but not as an audiobook.
Idk if I’m gonna finish this one. It was alright, fairly mediocre but a good head empty beach read, until the scene that is literally a near carbon copy of the darts scene from Ted Lasso but with cornhole instead. Having a hard time getting past the sheer unoriginality. Maybe I’ll pick it up again before it’s due back at the library. Probably not.
