An Absolutely Remarkable Thing: A Novel (The Carls Book 1)

ok i finished this during work lol the story itself was really captivating like i kept wanting to know what happened next and i don't think the puzzles/sequences/whatever overtook the narrative which was good. but god the main character april may is so annoying i think i'm supposed to slowly grow to like her or something idk but genuinely she was just annoying the entire time and YET the story was enticing enough that i want to read the second book!!!

also i liked listening to the audiobook because hank reads the last chapter which was nice :) i've been a semi-fan of the vlogbrothers for a long time so that was fun

This book was fantastic! A perfect mix of first alien contact with sci-fi and a interesting look at someone going viral and becoming one of the most famous people on the planet. This book had some serious ‘Ready Player One’ vibes. I was hooked from the beginning to the end. I really can’t wait for the next book!
