It was a good time, Colbert. Sometimes you were over my head, but I expected that. I enjoyed the rest of the ride.

I was particularly fond of these gems:

-We defeated the Nazis. We defeated the Native Americans. We defeated the environment. We even defeated the Metric System. Kilos? Sorry, that's drug talk. This is America, where we eat Fruit by the Foot, not Muesli by the Meter.

-And American jobs teach us to appreciate time with our families, by leaving us so little of it.

-And if you don't believe that our jobs are the greatest, then how do you explain the fact that you've been reading this book in your cubicle for the last hour and haven't been fired.
Busted. But it was only THIRTY MINUTES.

-The "Stop, Drop, Enroll" sample insurance form. Hands down one of the funniest things I've read all year. Maybe two years. Or three. And I was sober.

-Regarding energy sources: Wind is for powering your sailboat when your motor fails and for making out flags flutter majestically. Period.

-Elections chapter includes a photo of Mitt Romney wiping his hands with a napkin saying, "This is fun! I didn't know napkins could be made out of paper!"

-Section called "Additional Tips on Talking to the Police for Persons of Color":
*Do not carry anything that could be mistaken for a weapon, such as cell phones, wallets, combs, keys, Skittles, or hands.
*Do not wear the following: Hooded sweatshirts, sweaters with hoods, sweaters without hoods, hoods without sweaters, turtlenecks, turtlehoods. Make sure all clothing is non-threatening (examples: A. Yellow golf shirt, B. That is all).
*Do not be argumentative by challenging the police with such belligerent questions as "What did I do"? or "Why'd you pull me over?" or "Yes, officer?"

Clearly the recent incidents aren't anything new.

I beg you (fellow readers) - do NOT read this book if you often have a hard time telling when someone is joking or not, if you often times miss sarcasm, or if you are fuzzy on the meaning of "satire."
