I picked this book up to see if I could glean a little more about the franchise. I was sorely mistaken, though in hindsight this isn't the book to pick up for that, really. What I did find was a deeper look at the first movie in the Alien franchise. It was nice to have the characterization and to have a slower pacing than some of the more recent movies. The descriptions of the xenomorph, in particular, were chilling. However, the jump scares were way more effective visually and it followed the plot exactly, so it wasn't exactly surprising material. Still, it only took me a few hours to read and it was interesting. What I really want is the prequel Prometheus/Covenant stuff so maybe I'll just skip to the end. Wouldn't actually recommend, even if I enjoyed it. Just go watch the movie. (No reflection on the author.)
