Alex + Ada Volume 1

"Though this is a fairly classic sci-fi story line, Luna and Vaughn's sensitive plot and careful pacing keep it exciting, especially as they strip away preconceived notions and use the tale to examine the complexities of what it is to be human. Luna's spare illustrations match the plot perfectly, particularly his ability to bring nuance and feeling to faces rendered in a very simple style. Fans of Brian K. Vaughan's Saga or anyone who loves a good sci-fi tale will find plenty of thought-provoking stuff here." - Booklist
“Luna's artwork possesses a beautiful simplicity that reinforces the importance of the characters to the narrative.” - Library Journal

Its very interesting. I'm looking forward to reading more.
Alex is a sad, single man. Everything about him bums me out from his constant gloomy expression to his sparse apartment with its beige everything.
Ada is a robot.

No, no, no. She is a sexy robot.
She is a sexy robot gifted to Alex by his grandmother on his birthday.
My grandma gets me a card and a check for my birthday. Then again my grandma does not have her own sexy robot lover...that I know of.
I've never given too much thought to how I feel about robots or a future where my coffee is delivered to me by a smaller, flying robot. I thought some of the ideas were interesting, but I'm not feeling a whole lot yet. Interestingly enough, Alex wasn't necessarily feeling a whole lot yet either other than gloom and guilt. I'm hoping as his feelings for Ada grow, my feelings will grow as well. Otherwise this is going to end up a little flat. I'm hoping this was intentionally flat.
My favorite part was when his friends sat down togrill talk to Ada.

Yes, this thirty-six, twenty-four, thirty six, my friends.

I'm interested to see where this goes.
