Going into read this for the first time I heard this was quintessential Superman comic showing what made Superman so special. This comic I believe delivered on that promise. We saw Superman at his best the ideal hero for humanity, even when he's Clark bumping into people to push them into safety or helping a scared girl he is what we aspire to be. It took a while for the art to appeal to me and even then the drawings of people weren't always the best. But everything else from the landscape to fights and panels sometimes blew me away with there visuals. The only comic I did not like just because it seemed like a missed opportunity was when Superman meet the other kryptonians who showed up on earth. I felt like that could have been a two parter with more depth. Other then that all the characters were complex and Lex Luthor a particular standout. Overall a 8.5/10
