A Promised Land

In the stirring, highly anticipated first volume of his presidential memoirs, Barack Obama tells the story of his improbable odyssey from young man searching for his identity to leader of the free world, describing in strikingly personal detail both his political education and the landmark moments of the first term of his historic presidency—a time of dramatic transformation and turmoil.

An autobiography. Interesting listen. I enjoyed listed to Obama about his life. I found it fascinating to learn about his life and his decisions. While I did not agree with him on all his decisions (continued wars and drone warfare), I di find it fascinating to learn about his life and decision making process.

So glad I selected the audio book because it is read by Obama and because it is a super long book. When I finished I felt like I learned so much about politics and also the world...like taking a college course. Obama seems to be an extremely bright yet "regular" guy.

A well-written masterpiece about President Obama's first term in office. I felt as though I was part of his administration as he brought out specific details on his decision-making for policies, the issues he had within his cabinet, and his personal life, all while seeking to champion the American people.

It’s very interesting to hear Obama’s retelling of the impact of his presidency while adding a good amount of candor about his experience leading the country.
