A Kingdom of Dreams (2) (The Westmoreland Dynasty Saga)

The #1 New York Times bestselling author continues her evocative Westmoreland Dynasty Saga with this romance following two defiant hearts clashing over a furious battle of wills in the glorious age of chivalry.
Abducted from her convent school, headstrong Scottish beauty Jennifer Merrick does not easily surrender to Royce Westmoreland, Duke of Claymore. Known as “The Wolf,” his very name strikes terror in the hearts of his enemies. But proud Jennifer will have nothing to do with the fierce English warrior who holds her captive, this handsome rogue who taunts her with his blazing arrogance.
Boldly she challenges his will—until the night he takes her in his powerful embrace, awakening in her an irresistible hunger. And suddenly Jennifer finds herself ensnared in a bewildering web…a seductive, dangerous trap of pride, passion, loyalty, and overwhelming love.

This is not my usual thing.
I decided, however, that I am not getting any younger and what's it going to hurt to bring a little literary romance into my life?
And by a little romance I mean a little

And so I started into a long journey of misunderstandings (over and over and over), the word nipple, and face/palm sighs.
And yet...and YET...I had to have a little r-e-s-p-e-c-t for this little book. This book does not try to be anything more than it is. It's historical without being pretentious. Was it historically accurate? I don't know. Even better? I don't care. It's not the type of book where I care about it's historical accuracy because it's not the point. The point isnipples the romance. I really enjoyed the various settings - the woods and villages and castles (I just really love me a good castle).
Jennifer is our heroine. I use heroine more loosely here than I ever have before. I wanted to strangle her 98% of the time. And yet...and YET...I actually shed tears over her actions in a particular scene. I actually laughed out loud at some of her lines. There is no "and yet" regarding Royce (aka "the Wolf"). I would have jumped between his sheets in a heartbeat.
My biggest surprise was that I didn't cringe at those sexy scenes. Not once. And if I'm being honest, they were actually kinda sorta maybe a little bit pretty much completely

Nevermind. My biggest surprise is that I am actually changing my 3 Star Rating to a 4.
I'm officially a middle aged woman.
