Three years ago, Malcolm Romilly’s bride vanished on their wedding day, and no trace of her has ever been found. Now those who were closest to her have gathered, each a possible suspect in her disappearance.

From the poison garden kept by Malcolm’s sister to the high towers of the family castle, the island’s atmosphere is full of shadows, and danger lurks around every corner.

I LOVE me some Veronica & Stoker, but damn did they make me mad.

The beginning of this book really dragged for me because of the fact that they never went near each other. They seemed to avoid each other over a miscommunication and that trope gets on my nerves. I did however love getting to know Tiberius more. I still prefer Stoker, but I don't hate him either.

The second half of this book moved much quicker, and I am a sucker for small-town lore. Getting to read about the island, the gardens, and the mansion was a lot of fun. The reveal was a bit gruesome but not overly explicit. And Chester lived to tell the tale, so I was a happy camper.

(Honestly, if something happens to him, I will RIOT.)

Still love the series and will still keep reading. This one just wasn't my most favorite.

Another good entry in the Veronica Speedwell series. I'm enjoying these books a lot, and the audiobook narrator is so perfect for the role. I enjoyed the character development for Tiberius, but I was a bit frustrated with Stoker in some parts. I understand he and Veronica have a bicker-heavy relationship, but I feel like usually when he's unfair with her he admits it, and visa versa, but this time he messed with her a smidge more than I liked. Just me being nitpicky though, I think.
