you know what, I decided not to finish it. I really dislike main character with all this whining about how Miami is the best city (it's not), how Cuban food is the best food (it's not), and how her friend betrayed her when didn't tell she wants to build cabins in Africa. and why on Earth you people need so much time to kiss and I have to waste my time on your whining, eh?

Acho que eu não conseguiria terminar um livro tão desinteressado pela história no geral nem se eu tentasse.
This book was just what I needed. This is a story about finding yourself. We all know what it feels like to be in the in between. That time between graduating high school and becoming an adult. We sometimes lose ourselves and the relationships we built during those teen years.
Lila's parents send her to England for the summer after graduation. She sees it as punishment but they see it as an opportunity for her to heal. Her grandmother taught her everything she needs to know about cooking but ever since she passed away Lila's been even more determined to start her life as head baker of the family business. Not only did she lose her grandmother but her best friend and boyfriend.
This story is about healing your mind, body, and soul after loss. We all grieve a part of ourselves throughout our lives and I think this story really showed that sometimes you just need time. Not only does Lila learn to love herself but she finds love in a boy named Orion. A boy who understands Lila's loss. He may not have lost someone in the same way Lila lost her grandmother but it's loss all the same.
I love England. My sister has lived there for 8 years and so I feel like I have a piece of me there. It was nice to get to live there for a bit in Lila's story. I definitely recommend this and can see why Reese Witherspoon picked it as her November YA read!

WOE IS ME. The first 4 hours of the book is the most astonishing first world problem. “Honey, I’m sending you to get over your break up in London.” AND SHE COMPLAINS? 😒🙄Set it to music, will ya?
Then it got cuter and I liked the way she talked about food, made me hungry.
Orion is the most basic male life interest I’ve ever encountered. If bare minimum was a human. I think it’s mainly because her descriptions of him were a special kind of extra. Love is Blind, am I right?
The voice actor had issues with the British accent on Orion. He would speak normally and then say the Names of Spanish foods with the thickest accent, I couldn’t unhear it every time. I would be taken aback if someone just —
“I love the way your ✨pan dulces✨ taste.” It was a lot. But I guess, go him for going all in?
