Favourite book of all time
3.5 I think it was a good conclusion to the story, it wasn't a happy ending but I liked the ending. Winston and Julia are interesting characters and I found myself taking more interest in the book once things started to develop between them , their relationship was strange and compelling , It was obviously not perfect and they are pretty harmed by the conditions forced upon them , who wouldn't be? This book has a very interesting premise, and that's part of why I enjoyed the ending , because O'brien reveals many important parts about how Big brother and the whole creepy stuff work. It did have parts that I forced myself through but I decided to keep reading and it wasn't half bad. It was also shocking at some point, when the degree of dictatorship that they have over people is really shown, and It gave me something to think about
