Tom Miller is the author of *La ruta de los Panamás* about South America, *En la frontera*, which recounts adventures on the U.S.-Mexico border, and *Trading with the Enemy: A Yankee Travels Through Castro's Cuba*. His articles have appeared in *Smithsonian* magazine, *The New Yorker*, *The New York Times*, and other newspapers. Miller resides in Tucson, Arizona.
