I listened to this through the CraftLit podcast. This is another of those classic books where everyone knows the story (but please stop calling the monster Frankenstein) but very few people have actually read the story.
This was not the Frankenstein story I thought it would be.

Finally! I read it! This classic has been on my list for years. I have to say the nudge that finally spurred me to action was the reference to it in Edward Snowden's recent release of Permanent Record. He read it on the plane to Geneva, which is the setting for Frankenstein. His impression of the story's message is that the technology became the monster. That gave me the push I needed to finally read it.
